For the 2024-2025 Academic year
Harvard’s Crimson Cash program, which allows community members to add value to a Harvard ID-based declining balance account and make purchases (i.e. dining, laundry, vending, etc.) is in the process of being phased out. This decision was made in close consultation with University partners and stakeholders and based on significantly reduced utilization of the program due to the evolving purchasing habits of the Harvard community. The Crimson Cash program will be retired in three distinct phases outlined below:
PHASE 1- Complete. The following locations no longer accept Crimson Cash as a form of payment
- On-campus undergraduate residential dining
- Vending machines
- Harvard athletic gyms
- Off-campus merchants except GrubHub

PHASE 2- The following locations will stop accepting Crimson Cash as a form of payment on December 31, 2024
- On campus Harvard Dining retail cafes

PHASE 3- The following locations will stop accepting Crimson Cash as a form of payment on June 30, 2025

- On-campus print and copying
- Grubhub
- Student grilles
